Eleventh Grader Telehealth Clinic Director

“I think just being Gen Z,” is how eleventh grader, Rahul Madhavan responded when asked how he was able to create a virtual platform at a local clinic.

Mayflower Clinic has been in existence for more than 10 years in Wichita and was was initially started by a few physicians working to give back to the community. Recently the clinic has started offering telehealth in addition to regular clinic hours in person on Saturdays.  Madhavan has worked at the Mayflower Clinic since he was in the seventh grade and said he recently saw a need for convenience. He developed a platform connecting patients to providers remotely and did this bypassing traditional coding.  The telehealth platform has been a great resource with EHR capability, app-based video calls and mental health options with a psychiatrist as well.  Madhavan said he used a free website builder to connect patients and providers virtually.

His mother, Rajini Madhavan – a physician at the clinic, said she knew her son was tech-savvy but his ability to develop this platform was impressive. Madhavan is passionate about helping others and plans to continue working at the clinic. As far as his future plans, he wants to become a physician like his mother.
