KDHE partnering with communities to help pregnant women with COVID-19

Being pregnant during the pandemic can be scary – being told you have COVID-19 is even scarier. From a provider’s standpoint, a COVID-19 diagnosis carries special risks for a pregnant woman and her fetus. To help providers and moms-to-be thrive through the challenge of COVID-19, KDHE’s epidemiologists and Maternal and Child Health (MCH) staff began working together in April to identify women who had confirmed cases of COVID-19 and were pregnant at the time of their COVID-19 test.
