Correctional facility conditions have the potential for a “perfect storm” for COVID-19 – close living arrangements, staff and offenders moving in and out of the facility and limited resources. The COVID-19 outbreak at the Lansing Correctional Facility March 30 through June 8 presented these challenges and more, but what was learned during the outbreak is now being applied in correctional settings around the state.
