The Opportunity: Local Health Department billing staff play a vital role in extending public health services to Kansas communities. Through billing activities, local health departments can depend upon a revenue cycle which helps offset expenses of providing public health care such as salaries, supplies and overhead.

Who Should Participate: Billing staff call upon each other for training and support, for many years with most learning by filing one claim at a time. The 2026 LHD Billing Symposium welcomes billers and other public health professionals from across the state to learn, problem-solve and network together.
